There is the foul, Matthew Lee will head to the line, a Junior from San Juan Puerto Rico.
Sammy Villegas, Matthew’s Dohn Prep Head Coach
Matthew Lee is playing right now in March Madness, as we speak. We’re very proud of him, especially coming from Dohn Prep Academy (a Dohn Community High School Program). Everybody’s happy here in our program, it’s amazing what he has accomplished, especially coming from his background. It’s very amazing. It’s like “I’m here” – “here I am” – beating a historic team which is Kentucky.
Matthew Lee, Saint Peter’s Peacocks, Guard, Junior
It’s been years in the making and working hard, day in and day out, not giving up on my dreams.
Sammy Villegas, Matthew’s Dohn Prep Head Coach
You know, given what this kid has battled, you’re talking about grinding (working hard), this is amazing. He grinds in Puerto Rico to come to the United States in New Jersey. He came over here to a brand new program almost at the deadline to go to school to commit to a school – it just speaks volumes of the kid that he is. The loyalty that he chose our program.
Nigel Madaris, Dohn CHS / Athletic Director
He’s a hard worker. He did what we asked him to do and he stuck in there until he got what he wanted. So that was huge.
Matthew Lee, Saint Peter’s Peacocks, Guard, Junior
Dohn Community High School has done a lot of things for me. It’s helped me grow as a player, as a person, and as a student. and just little intangibles outside of the court that they help me with.
Sammy Villegas, Matthew’s Dohn Prep Head Coach
Me and Nigel Madaris we must be doing something good which is all about the kids and I always preach that it’s all about the kids and helping these kids to accomplish things for their future which is going to college.
Nigel Madaris, Dohn CHS / Athletic Director
We take care of our business -we get kids educated, you know? We get them qualified with the NCAA athletically. Get them on an exposure pedestal that will get them into college.

Hopefully now my journey is in Division I basketball. I hope to be one of the best players in all of college basketball and after that we’ll see where basketball takes me – hopefully the NBA – but if not I have very good studies behind me so I can do anything in life.
